Your inspiration of raising chickens:

We are trying to eat and source as much of our food/needs locally and we are also huge animal fans and have heard so many wonderful things about chickens. We really view them as pets but also love having an amazing food source from such fun and dynamic creatures.

Pros of having chickens:

eggs, entertainment, education for children, built in compost

Cons of having chickens:

flies, smell, caring for another living creature, limits extended vacations
